Mainwaring was a amateur filmmaker. His amateur footage of a holiday trip to the Rockies -- Kootenay National Park, Radium Hot Springs, Banff, Jasper, and Calgary -- was made into the travelogue Vacation Time (1950), with editing and post-production by Lew Parry Film Productions.
