Ruben Valencia was a painter and sculptor, founding member of the art collective No-Grupo (No-group) along with Maris Bustamante, Melquiades Herrera, Alfredo Núñez and others. He was a professor and researcher for the department of Sciences and Art for Design of the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico (UAM).
