Paul L. Thebaud was the nephew of philanthropist Louis A. Thebaud. His uncle was a sponsor of the Gertrude L. Thebaud racing schooner, and it is possible that Thebaud's film Gloucester and the Fisherman's Race contains footage of a Gertrude L. Thebaud race.
