"[Holtz] was born in Portland Aug. 15, 1901, attended Portland schools and graduated in 1920 from Culver Military Academy. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1914 to 1924 when he went to work for Lipman Wolfe & Co. He later owned and operated Proctors, Inc. He organized Screen Adettes, Inc., in 1931, distributing 16 mm film in western states. In 1932, he was president of the Oregon Advertising Club. During World War II, he served as motion picture consultant with the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D. C. He was also ex-president of the National Audio-Visual Assn."
