"Reel 1: Mother, two children and grandmother await father's return from business trip. Grandmother pays for children's toys and mother's C.O.D. package. Boy, playing baseball, breaks neighbor's window; father pays for window. While paying bills, father complains to wife about extravagance. Grandmother says that he is partly to blame for not teaching financial responsibility to family. He gives children allowances and instructs them in their use. Reel 2: Children work and save for mother's birthday gift and items for themselves," via National Archives.
