"Newell Tune's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' has some outstanding photography in which distortion lens attachments were used for some fantastic effects." American Cinematographer, May 1952, 224.
Home Movies (Sept. 1953, 376) reported that this film was recognized as a "Distinguished Film" at the PSA convention of 1953; this mention describes the film as "a clever novelty film. Distortion and reverse motion produce weird screen effects." Similarly, a mention in Movie Makers (Dec. 1952, 318) notes the film's "comic imagery and adventures inherent in distortion filters."
Record of the film at the BFI.
